  1. Hey Lynne, Thanks a lot for the great tips. I can see now that these simple and powerful pointers will have my site rank well in the search engines.

    • Hi Yared
Yes it is amazing how just one little thing can change your keyword ranking for a post! Have fun playing 🙂

  2. Very informative article. Thank you sharing it. I have always struggled with the keyword search. Seems like the competition is high in some of the keywords. I will also update my older posts. Appreciate it.

    • Hi Drew, yes always be prepared to go back and change things. In fact I made some changes to a post on Monday and now I have some new page 1 rankings which was a very pleasant surprise for me to find today!

  3. hi Lynne
you provide excellent tips on how to get a better ranking for a website! Reading all of them, I see I am already doing more than half of them. So that’s good. However, what I need to do now is to update older posts. I did a few but I really need to have a read through and spruce things up a bit. Link to some of my other posts and just change some wording here and there as I think we grow as writers as time goes by. So this will be my weekend project! However, I thought that the number of times a week you add content did not matter so much as adding content consistently. I add some every week, about once a week on a consistent basis. Is that enough?

    • Hi Emily yes I think once a week is enough. I add once a week to 2 of my websites, I currently add more than once a week on this website and on my last I usually only add a new post maybe every month! Yes the key is to be consistent with posting. I am sure updating your old content will make a huge difference for you! Thanks for visiting again.

  4. One more tip… Write! Don’t wait for inspiration. Just write. Later you can work around your text and correct mistakes. Don’t think much about the titles and form or else… Just write!

    • Thanks Sasa, great advice there! I find if I wait too long or try and make anything perfect I don’t even get started.

  5. That’s a great list Lynne. It gave me so much information to think about when setting up my site. Just what I needed more information, lol. I think I’ll try to post once a week, while I’m still working full time. I can’t seem to find the time posting more. Next year when I’m fully retired I’m going to shoot for 3 times a week. Thanks for posting this great list!

    • Hi Peter, yes if you are working full time only aim for once a week. Getting up 3 posts a week is really tough! I am so glad this was helpful to you.

  6. Hi Lynne, I definitely have to use this post as a reference. I’m relatively new to all this, just a couple of months, and can always use some advice. You’ve covered every area I need to improve in, and added some I wasn’t even familiar with. Thanks for such helpful information.

    • Hi Hindy, thanks for visiting again and I am so glad I could help you. Sasa also gave some great advice in her comment, don’t always wait for inspiration or for the perfect post. Get writing!
