A few months from now and your explainer video flight is going to take off. You are excited but at the same time, you want to be sure that you will benefit from it. There are a lot of ways for you to do it but it will still depend on you and your input.

Set Your Goals Before Anything Else

You have to remember that all things start with a purpose and it should be a good one at that. If you are eager to know what specific metrics you have to pay most attention to, you might want to identify several things before you start. Distinguish your target audience. Who are the people you want to choose your product? Do you target male or female audience? What are their works? What are their hobbies? When it comes to crafting your animated explainer video, you need to answer these questions about your ideal audience in a blink of an eye.

Establish an aim. What is your goal for creating an explainer video in the first place? Do you plan to educate your audience regarding your service or produce to save time on future sales? Do you aim to attract more site visitors or maybe, you simply want to convince them that your product is what suits them best. A clear objective in place may come in handy when you are monitoring if your marketing campaign is successful or not.

Evaluate Using Your Marketing Objectives

Is there is a call to action added to your video, like visiting a website? Does it involve a conversion like signing up for newsletters or downloading an eBook? If yes, study the results because these will give an idea if your explainer video really helps with your set objectives.

  • Your website

It is possible to make a comparison through adding your video to your site and checking its analytics in relation to the value acquired before you included the video. For example, bounce rates will affect the video’s success since they reveal the percentage of visitors who go to your site and leave right away. Low bounce rates mean your video kept the viewers hooked and they like to continue navigating.

It is directly related to the time visitors spend on the page where your video is embedded. Highly engaging videos keep people hooked until the very end which increases stay-on time.

  • Social media

For sure, you post your explainer video on social media. It’s how you can measure engagement rates with ease through looking at comments, likes, shares or other forms of interaction with your post. How will it promote engagement? When you are looking for a solution, service or product ad you suddenly found a video which seems to be made right for you, you will consider it as a big blessing, right? If a video manages to touch you, it is not just natural for you to comment on it, like it and pass the word through sharing it. Reactions coming your way will help you gain insights regarding the perception of your audience of your animated explainer video.

  2. Great information for animated explainer videos. I have seen a lot of these videos around lately and I am absolutely sure they are going to be even bigger in the future.

I am interested in having a video made and putting it on the site to check the analytics..

Again Studios seem to be a good company to investigate for this endeavor.

    • Hi Connie

I love the way that they offer unique animated videos since most people (including me) have animated videos made from a website offering templates. So the music on offer and all the scenes are the same!

I was also quite interested in their services!

  3. Lynne, compact and informative that easy to understand. I would recommended this for beginners that unlike me when I was first started too over-burden with one too many information.

In fact, nice short and easy explanations of how things work is all we need as beginners that searching good guidance not only finding their own niche but their footing in digital world.

  4. Great post Lynne, definitely takes some of the confusion out of understanding what makes a good explainer video.

I’m big on goals and totally agree with you. If you’re not targeting a specific audience with the anticipation of an ideal result, how do you know if it’s working or not? And also, how can you improve it?

Great point about understanding how an explainer video effects different metrics across your site, not just it’s effect on the intended result.

I do feel a positive reaction when I see a video that suits me perfectly, whereas if it’s not suited to me, I get kind of irritated. The extra time and attention to targeting before, during and after the campaign will always be worth it!

Thank you for sharing your insight 🙂

    • Hi Ian

Thank you for reinforcing those points. I believe with marketing a lot of businesses don’t plan properly or evaluate what effect it has had and this truly is vital if you are to fine tune your marketing efforts isn’t it?

Until you know what works and what doesn’t it kinda like shooting in the dark!

I am very glad you enjoyed this post.
