10 Reasons Why I Love Being A Blogger

We all have to make a living and while we all want to make buckets of cash there is something that must be said about working in a career that you are passionate about. One day each of us will take some time looking back on our lives and I am sure that the amount of money we have managed to build up is not going to be high on our list of things that brought us happiness.

Each moment in our lives is an opportunity to have fun, be happy and be inspired. Do you wake up in the morning happy and excited to start work? Or do you wake up on a Monday morning feeling like you are dragging your feet through mud as you make your way to your desk?

The last few years I have been blogging full time and I can honestly say that I absolutely love it. I can see now why it is so important to do something that you love to make money.

10 reasons why I love being a blogger

Here are some of the things that I love about being a blogger:

  1. Freedom To Be 100% Myself

This is something that is so liberating. I can write about whatever is on my mind at the moment and I can make money from it. I have absolutely no need to pretend to be someone else, or to be formal with anyone. My job is to be 100% myself and to share my thoughts, knowledge and even my feelings with you.

People read my blogs because they want to hear my opinion.

How cool is that?

  1. Freedom To Work With Whoever I Want To

Another biggie is that I can work with whoever I want to and promote anything that I want to. I have been contacted by many companies and people that ask me to promote their business or products and I have at times simply declined to do business with them.

Think multi level marketing opportunities (cringe), weight loss pills (just plain dangerous) and one cure wonders for addiction which will literally risk someone’s life. I won’t get involved with those things and I can say outright why.

I can browse around Amazon or many other online stores that have affiliate programs and find things that I think are awesome, write about them and make money if you buy them.

And yes there is a huge difference between mlm and affiliate marketing!

  1. Freedom To Work When And Where I Want To

Internet connection? Laptop? Great because that is all that I need to work with. If I have my laptop and an internet connection I can work from anywhere in the entire world.

My work is also not dictated by day light hours, or days of the week. I can work at whatever time I want to and I can take time off too when I want or need to.

It’s not like someone will have a heart attack if they realize I never published a blog post today, in fact most people won’t even notice.

  1. Multiple Ways To Earn

There are many ways to make money with blogging and I can pick and choose whichever ways I want to earn. With blogging I truly believe that you are limited only by your own creativity and initiative when it comes to earning money.

The sky is the limit and over time you can start to earn true residual income from your past efforts. Big time bonus right?

Multiple ways to earn income

  1. I Love Writing

Of course if you don’t really enjoy writing you may find blogging a little tricky, but luckily for me I really enjoy writing. I love expressing myself through my writing.

This makes blogging the perfect career choice for me.

  1. I Love Reading

As a blogger I can’t just spend all my time writing. Very often I need to do research before I write an article which means I need to read a lot for each article that I publish.

I could spend all day reading, but of course then I would get no writing done!

  1. I Love Learning New Things

Not only do I love learning new things when I am researching an article that I am writing, but I also love learning about online marketing. I have come to realize that writing is just one aspect of blogging. I have learned so much about digital marketing in the last 5 years since I wrote my first blog post that I am quite amazed at the journey.

  1. I Love The Challenge of SEO

It is one thing writing an article but how do you get people to your website to read your content? How do you get your content to rank on search engines so that people actually see your content?

I love this challenge of SEO and when I get page one rankings and the traffic starts coming in to a new post it is so exciting. SEO is almost like this puzzle that needs to be solved and I love puzzles. There is always something new to learn, some new technique that I find about that I can implement to rank my content better.

  1. I Love Engaging With People

Writing content is awesome, knowing that people are reading it is great… but when people start engaging with me online and sharing their story too I find that so rewarding.

Connecting with like-minded people is lovely. I get to engage with other parents on my parenting website and with other online marketers here. I also have a website about recovery from addiction where I connect with other recovering addicts.

  1. What I Do Helps People

My work has meaning and this is so important to me.

On my addiction website I share my story about being an addict and how I got clean. The thought that perhaps my story inspires another addict to get clean and to find the strength to stay sober is something that I take great pride in.

Maybe my story about how my daughter never slept for more than 2 hours at a time until she was older than 3 years old will help another exhausted mother make it through another very tiring day?

On this website I share things I have learned about blogging and online marketing. Maybe someone reading this article will find the same happiness I have in changing careers and starting blogging?
