What is Quality Content for SEO: Write SEO Juicy Content!

Do you want to know how to write quality content that the search engines will love?

What is quality content for seo

But first we need to ask what is Quality Content for SEO?

Quality Content means your content is:

Before I tell you how to write high juice SEO content I want to stress the importance of writing for people first and foremost. If you write for SEO purposes only you will find that this will impact your website negatively. Your visitors will not stay on your website, they will not engage by commenting and they will not bother sharing your content. Having visitors that engage on your website will rank your website better. If visitors leave your website without engaging this will tell the search engines your content is poor and your rankings will drop! Keep your writing natural and in your personal style.

Keeping the above in mind, here are some great tips to make your content rank better:

  • Firstly research your keyword thoroughly before starting to write your post, find a great keyword tool.
  • Focus on one new keyword for each piece of content you create (don’t duplicate keywords in different pieces of content)
  • Make sure your keyword is in your URL right at the beginning
  • Make sure your keyword is in your title right at the beginning
  • Try and have your keyword at the start of your post or at least in the first 3 paragraphs
  • Use headings and try and put your keyword in an H3 heading
  • Use images and include your keyword in the alt text
  • Embed a Youtube video
  • Don’t keyword stuff, you will be penalized for this.
  • Write in easy to read sentences. Use shorter sentences instead of longer to read sentences with lots of commas.
  • Try include at least one outbound link. If possible link to a relevant high authority website.
  • Include internal links to other pieces of relevant content on your website

I hope this post helps you to understand the basics of quality content. If you are ready to take in a lot more information, check my article which shares my secret sauce for rankings which includes detailed checklists for before, during and after publishing content. Trust me, its good.

    • Hi Bishop, thanks for your feedback. I suggest amending that post. Google likes it when your content is up to date, so perhaps adding a little bit of new information can help. Also comments really helps too! Encourage people to comment on your website, share that post in social media to get it out there again and get fresh content in that way. Also bear in mind rankings can jump around a bit in the beginning and then stabilize.

  8. Hi!
You are spot on in saying write for the people. Google really likes to see original content that helps solve a problem or educates the reader in some way.
Also, remember on backlinks Google is very picky, and social backlinks are preferred over any other, and other kinds can actually hurt your SEO efforts!
    Nice article!

  12. Great Post Lynee,
You highlighted a point that most online content creators ignore and that is the audience.

Often I somewhat get so engrossed with the SEO aspect of writing is that I forget that in the end it is going to be read by readers and they are going to decide if they want to keep coming back.

A nice reminder for creating quality content online 🙂

    • Hey Josh, thanks for visiting and sharing your thoughts. So glad I could remind you to focus on your audience. I also sometimes forget how important it is!

  13. Hello,

    Thanks for the tips!

One question… What’s the reasoning behind the outbound link? I assume you mean to say a manufacturer of your product etc? What sort of effects would that have?

    Thank you

    • Hi Dean

Great question, nope I am not necessarily referring to an outbound link to a product manufacturer (or an affiliate lin.

I am referring to an outbound link to an authority website, so great quality content. This shows your readers that you have corrobated the information on your website, it also gives your readers more resources on the subject they are reading about.

This shows search engines and your users that you value good quality content. But in the same way that linking to high authority websites will help rank your website higher, linking to low quality sites and content can be detrimental to your ranking.

  14. Nice post Lynne,
I actually don’t bother myself about writing on SEO, however I do care about delivering a quality content for my blog readers. Its my third month blogging and I have to tell you blogging is a kind of big deal.

    Thanks,
